The pops come from the Exhaust Burble Tuner in the D-Sync app: ignition retard (how hard it pops), burble duration per drive mode (SPORT / SPORT+ / RACE), RPM, throttle and speed windows, catalyst-temperature protection and the exhaust flaps, with one tap back to the factory setting. It is included free with the OTS Mappack. It is available on AMG models; non-AMG models are being added step by step, and the S 560 (M176) already has it. The C 450 and GL 550 have no factory AMG burble module, so they pop through the global Fuel Cut Mode, which is adjustable the same way. The exact controls depend on the ECU software version.
What can be set: the Standard Burble preset or every control in Advanced; intensity (ignition retard); burble duration per drive mode — SPORT, SPORT+ and RACE, or none in a mode you want quiet; RPM, throttle and speed windows; exhaust flaps (sport opening, cold start, quiet-mode high load — on supported AMG cars the coding functions can also set the flaps fully open or fully closed); catalyst-temperature protection; one tap back to the factory setting. Every car is different: which controls a car gets, and their ranges, depend on the car and its ECU software version. Download the car's Pop & Bang module in the app's Files, set it, and it is written with the OTS tune when you flash. Please respect local noise rules.
